Live CBD resin is a type of cannabis concentrate that is produced using a unique technique. When a farmer harvests fresh cannabis it is frozen to a subcritical temperature prior to and throughout the whole extraction. By freezing the plant straight away when it’s harvested, the farmers are skipping the drying and curing phases. Drying and curing flower is very difficult, what the plant undergoes can have a devastating impact on the cannabis compounds and terpenes.

It’s called live or alive CBD resin for a reason

When a female plant is cut for harvest is normally goes through a very intense drying and curing process. This exposes the cannabinoids and terpenes to a few different negatives. Heat, oxygen, and light. The plant slowly dies, it losses moisture, and all the negatives I mentioned affect the potency of the CBD flower. Live resin is supercritcaly frozen and isn’t given time to degrade its alive. By freezing the plant immediately after harvest, the cannabis plant will retain its valuable terpene and cannabinoid profile, original fragrance, and flavor. Ultimately the plant never dies since it hasn’t gone through the drying a curing process. During the drying and curing process, the cannabis plant wicks itself of moisture and chlorophyll. Trichomes are subjected to adverse conditions such as increased exposure to oxygen, heat, and light which all degrade terpenes.
